Born in Pulaski, Va., Mrs. Weed had lived in Wilmington before making her home in Princeton.

In addition to her husband, Arthur F. Weed, and a daughter, Miss Mary Bell Weed, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Embree B. White Sr., of Pulaski, Va., three brothers, Embree B. White Jr. of Pulaski, Va., James B. White of Abingdon, Va., and Rollin P. White of Graham, N.C. and a sister Miss Carolyn White of Wilmington.

Services will be held in Pulaski, Va., on Wednesday.

Mrs. C. E. Vermillion and Mrs. D. D. Litteral entertained their bridge club Tuesday afternoon, with Miss Virginia Harman, whose marriage to James Bell White took place Saturday afternoon, as guest of honor.

A dessert course was served by the hostesses, after which the following guests engaged in bridge: the honoree, Miss Sallie Harman, Miss Jen Harman, Miss Aldah Larew, Miss Cloyd Collins, Mrs. Henry Cecil, Mrs. W. H. Malun, Mrs. Fred Dent, Mrs. Harry Gravely, Mrs. W. J. Jordan, Mrs. Frank Ziegler.

Miss Harman was presented with a guest prize. High score prizes were won by Mrs. Fred Dent, Miss Jan Harman, and Mrs. Zeigler.

WHITE, Virginia Harman, of Richmond, died January 29, 2015 at Westminster Canterbury Retirement Community in Richmond. She was 96, and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Bell White. Survivors include her sons, Jim (Sharon) and David (Jean), both of the Richmond area; grandchildren, Alex (Susan) of Madison, Wis., Brian (Lara) of Richmond, Andrew (Megan) of Atlanta, Sarah (engaged to Mark Chawla) of Richmond; and great-grandchildren, Kaley, Meagan, Eli, Sadie, Asa and Sally White. She is also survived by a sister, Sally Harman Werth of Rural Retreat, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn White of Blacksburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was a 1939 graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond. A memorial service will be held at the Westminster Canterbury Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, with the Rev. Wallace Adams-Riley officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the family cemetery at New Dublin Presbyterian Church, Dublin, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 815 Grace St. Richmond, Va. 23219.
