WILTON JACK WEBB Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Visitation will be held for Wilton Jack Webb on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, followed by a Military Graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Parker officiating.

Jack was born December 28, 1923 and went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, November 5, 2009.

He served from 1941 - 1947 during WWII, as a US Navy Signal Man aboard the USS Denebola AD-12, an Altair-Class Destroyer; USS Praire AD-15, a Destroyer Tender; USS Tillman DD-641, a Gleaves Class Destroyer; and the USS Currier DE-700, a Buckley Class Destroyer Escort while participating in the American Theatre, European-African Theatre and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.

While stationed on Great Diamond Island in Casco Bay, off Portland, Maine, he married our precious mother, Georgianna "Honey" Kilpatrick, who worked with the New England Ship Building Co. At the end of WWII, they returned to West Monroe to raise their family and found Webb's Package Liquors.

Jack served as VFW District Commander of the Hudson Lehigh Post 3993 and attended Ridge Avenue Baptist Church, Edgewood Baptist Church, and Highland Presbyterian Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents W.J. Webb and Audrey Scarborough, one brother W.C. Webb, maternal grandparents J.D. Scarborough and Iula Mares, and paternal grandparents W.J. Webb and Rebecca Guess. He is survived by his children Georgianna Webb Martin and husband Terry L., Jack Webb and wife Marsha, Scott Webb and wife Janet, and Greg Webb, grandchildren Wes Webb, Justin Webb, Andy Webb, and Jana Webb Spillers and husband Adam, great grandchildren Hayden Webb-Spillers and Taylor Webb, brother Jimmie Webb and wife Peggy; in Pennsylvania, his brothers and sisters in-law Merton and Judy Kilpatrick, Shirley Ehrie, Lois Messinger, Iva Kilpatrick, and Mayme Kilpatrick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends its appreciation to the West Ouachita Senior Center friends for the love and friendship shown to our precious father. Also, we thank the following doctors and their staffs for the care given him, Dr. Keith Calhoun, Dr. John Cooksey, Dr. Mark Napoli, and Dr. Kuruvala. Thanks also to the USVA and the VFW Commander George Anzelmo for kindness shown the family during this difficult time. Mr. Webb was a proud patriot who served his country well during WWII. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
