Although the dates make sense, I think another Jacob may have married her, because I think this Jacob died in 1899 and is buried in Riegelsville, and it says his wife was Eliza S. Lesh. His wife is also Eliza in the 1860 census. Unless her name was Maria Elizabeth Shively.2

Obituary Mention20 December 1897He was mentioned in the obituary of Louisa Shively, on 20 December 1897. Mrs. Louisa Young, widow of the late Jacob Young, of Moore Township, died at the residence of Jacob Lesh, her brother-in-law, at Raubsville, Williams Township. She was in a runaway on May 25 last, in South Easton, when she had her arm broken and a rib fractured. Since that time she has been bed-ridden and died from a complication of diseases. Her age was 72 years. One brother, Charles Shively, and two step sons, Ephraim and Frank Young, survive. She was a daughter of the late Peter Shively, of Williams Town-

Jacob H. Lesh, a prominent citizen of Williams Township and a Republican well known throughout the county, died of stomach trouble at 6.30 o'clock last evening at his home at Raubsville, in the 70th year of his age.

He was taken sick on Wednesday of last week and his condition, not considered serious at first, rapidly grew worse until death ensued. His wife died about three years ago. One brother and a sister survive him -- John H. Lesh, a leather merchant residing near Boston, Mass., and Mrs. Lantz, of Riegelsville.8

Although the dates make sense, I think another Jacob may have married her, because I think this Jacob died in 1899 and is buried in Riegelsville, and it says his wife was Eliza S. Lesh. His wife is also Eliza in the 1860 census. Unless her name was Maria Elizabeth Shively.2

In Addenda 3, Lesh adds some Northampton County Lesh's, evidently unconnected with the main (Balthasar) family line of the book.

I have not yet found any Revolutionary soldier named John Lesh that he mentions. A Jacob Lesh is mentioned in the Pennsylvania Archives, Fifth Series, Volume VIII, page 152, Harrisburg, PA 1906:

Under Capt John Sentees Company, 2nd Battalion of Militia of Northampton County, 4 Sep 1781, in the 7th class, Jacob Lesh is one of the men in that class.
