Birth31 October 1736Stephen Hallock was born on 31 October 1736 in Setauket, Long Island, New York.

BurialNovember 1802He was buried in November 1802 at Hill Cemetery in Richmond, Chittenden County, Vermont.2
Biography1926In 1926: Genealogies mentioning Stephen Hallock: In 1926, Lucius H. Hallock published a comprehensive genealogy of the Hallock family. Stephen was listed in this book, but Clarinda and Sally were not listed as his children. Only the boys were listed, and a son named Benjamin was not listed.

In the Hallock-Holyoke book, the six boys (not including Benjamin) were mentioned.

I have seen a note on a Rootsweb database (Kansas Pioneers by silverfox229) that says that the "1992 Addendum to A Hallock Genealogy" by the Hallock Family Association, Gateway Press, Baltimore, 1992, corrects her father to Stephen (Benjamin, John, William, Peter). I have not seen the book, I will try to order through interlibrary loan.

The birthplaces listed for these children need some sorting out. I am wondering if the similarity in names caused some mistaken locations to be entered. In any case, the connection with Richmond, Chittenden County, Vermont is well documented.3,4
