The Rev. Gordon J. Stenning, the rector, officiated. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister Miss Edith T. Spooner, as maid of honor, Edward Johnson was best man, and Arthur M. Doing [?] Jr. and Richard S. Spooner Jr., brother of the bride, were ushers. The bride wore a gown of champagne lace over taffeta, with a circular veil over a headpiece of champagne satin and pearls. She carried a white orchid on a prayer book. The maid of honor in a gown of Christmas green velvet with matching headpiece, carried a cascade of red carnations. A reception was held at Holy Cross guild house on West Main Road, Middletown. After a wedding trip to New York City, the couple will live on Winthrop Drive, Valley Brook Farm, Middletown. The bride is a graduate of Rogers High School and the New England Deaconness Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. Mr. Smith, also a Rogers graduate, is a graduate of Cornell University. He is a contractor. |
