Steve was a dedicated family man, loyal friend, soulful musician, and celebrated Freemason. He served his community for over 20 years as a police officer, and for years afterwards in any capacity he could. He made friends wherever he went, lit up rooms with his infectious smile, and never failed to make others laugh (even when he didn’t mean to). His self-described “family motto” captures him perfectly: “we may not get a lot accomplished, but we have a heck of a time doing it.”
Steve’s memory will be carried on by his wife Patti; his mother, Barbara; his siblings, George, Keith, Jeff, and Lynn, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren; his children, Doug, Benu, Megan, and Michelle; his grandson Richie; his grandchild on the way; and the countless other friends and family members whose lives he touched. Steve will be dearly missed, and we will forever cherish the time we had with him.
Steve’s family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, March 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Clymer Funeral Home in Palm Coast. A visitation will be held before the service frm 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. also at Clymer Funeral Home.
They ask that you help honor Steve’s memory through donations in his name to the Flagler Humane Society, the Florida Masonic Youth Charity or by sending flowers to his service. |

Born, July 1, 1961, Tilley began his law enforcement career with the Tarrytown Police Department in 1984 and transferred to the Irvington Police Department in 1987. He served as an officer and a detective until he retired in 2002, said Chief Michael Cerone.

Duffy, Sr., a long-time Rye resident and retired salesman, died yesterday of a heart attack at United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester. He was 76. He was born March 25, 1915, in New Britain, Conn., where he was educated and lived until joining the U.S. Army in 1941. Mr. Duffy served in the Army until 1945. He was a Master Sergeant and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he moved to Rye. Mr. Duffy was a salesman for 30 years, most recently with Chevron Oil in White Plains. He retired 14 years ago. He married Betty Tilley on March 21, 1942, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain. Mr. Duffy attended Resurrection Church in Rye. He was a member of the Rye Boating Association and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Rye. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward Duffy, Jr., of Stamford, Conn., and Robert Duffy of Fairfield, Conn., a daughter, Gail Losito of New Milford, Conn., a brother, Gerald Duffy, of West Hartford, Conn., and a granddaughter. The William H. Graham Funeral Home of Rye is handling the arrangements. |
