Arthur Kelm, 85, of 223 Burleigh Ave., Holly Hill, Fla., a former leader of Easton-area veterans organizations, died Jan. 8 in Daytona Beach, Fla., General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Hagley) Kelm and formerly resided in Easton.

Kelm was a self-employed painter and interior decorator in the Easton area until retiring in the mid-1960's.

An Army veteran of World War I who was wounded in France, he was a past service officer of Easton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1290. Kelm was past finance officer, national junior vice commander and state commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Easton Chapter 198. Services were in Holly Hill.

Survivors: She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Nelson; her children, Ms. Gail Gilbert, Nelson P. May and wife, Yvonne, David May and wife, Pamela, Mark May, Catherine Crozier and husband, Stan, Mary Napolitano and husband, Michael, and Gregory May; she also leaves behind 18 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Henry and Joseph Hummell of Easton, Pennsylvania.

Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, June 23, 2009at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 201 University Blvd., Daytona Beach.

The body was removed to the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott and will be returned to her home Sunday morning where friends may call until Tuesday morning. The body will be returned to the funeral home Tuesday morning.

Nesquehoning St., Easton, a city fireman before retiring in 1952, died Monday in his home. He was last employed as a steward by the Liberty Hose Co., Easton. Kuebler was the husband of the late Caroline (Bachman) Kuebler. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Williard and Elizabeth (Rager) Kuebler.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Easton.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Rogers of Easton and Mrs. Barbara Frey of Bethlehem Township; a son, Frank J. of Palmer Township; a sister, Mrs. Caroline McCarthy of Easton, and seven grandchildren.

Services at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Berwick and Reynolds streets, Easton, will be following by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the church. Calling hours will be after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
