Family 1: Reuben Unangst

DaughterBertha D. Unangst+ (b. 6 April 1873, d. 4 August 1906)

Family 2: Michael Simmons

Biography

Research NoteI had a note that said she married twice, first Reuben Unangst, then Michael Simmons. However, I cannot remember where I saw that. Her obituary does not imply that, and the only Reuben Unangst that I can find is always listed as single, and died 27 Sep 1907 in the Almshouse, Lower Nazareth (probably Gracedale), where he had been for 7 months. He was about 80 years old and is listed as single. I think she had a child of Reuben's but I am not sure if they were married. The child was Bertha D. (Delilah?) (married name Pyatt) 6 Apr. 1873 - 4 Aug 1906. Husband David Pyatt. Four girls (one died as teenager). David married again.

Lillie D. (7, daughter, at home)

Near son Henry and son Isaac. Also Isaac Fox.

"Delilah" may be the same person as Lillie D. and also Bertha D. I think not a child of Jacob but a child of Elizabeth.2
Census4 June 1900She appeared in the census 4 June 1900 at 543 Mauch Chunk St. in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Mary is listed as: Mary E. Koken, a housekeeper in the household of Michael Simmons, Head. Only the two of them in the household. Mary E. born Feb 1848, age 52, single, occupation housework.
Michael Simmons, Head, is age 58, born Jan. 1842, Widowed, Cobbler, rents his home.
Both are listed as unable to read or write.3
