Property Record16 August 1819James was involved in a property transaction on 16 August 1819 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. James Ross purchased at public vendue a piece of property in Lower Mount Bethel Township, which had been taken by Writ of Levari Facias to satisfy a debt of John Neilson, late of Northampton County, yeoman, which debt had been assigned to John Reed, which was assigned to John Clyd, which was assigned to James Ross.

The monies were not paid by the date set by the Court, so the Sheriff, Daniel Raub, was commanded to sell at public vendue, on 16 Aug 1819, a certain tract, situate in Lower Mount Bethel Township bounded by land of Tobias Sterner, Daniel Gruber, John Neilson, Daniel Wagener, and John Connelly containing sixty three Acres and seventy five perches, being part of the premises in the said Writ. The parcel was sold for the sum of $300 to James Ross, he being the highest and best bidder and that being the best price bidden for same.
